The call followed Sheikh Mohammed’s recent visit to Cairo, which underscored the strong brotherly ties between Egypt and Qatar and their commitment to continued close coordination on various regional issues.
During their conversation, the ministers discussed the latest updates concerning the Iranian crisis. Minister Abdel Atti expressed his support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to cancel planned military strikes against Iran. He emphasized the importance of seizing this opportunity to reach a comprehensive agreement that addresses outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, thereby contributing to de-escalation and enhancing regional security and stability.
The discussion also covered security concerns affecting regional countries, particularly those in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
